Can't they just add that in with firmware though? I mean they're removing hardware, not actually changing it. I thought that the upscaling would be delivered through FW to all PS3s.

I'm gonna buy a current gen (60GB w/ Emotion Engine) PS3 right when they announce the new 80GB model w/o the EE... I need full backward compatibility for my ps2 games cause the laser in mine is crapping out...

You could just go to Barnes & Nobles and take the poster out of the back. Most of the time it isn't there anymore anyway....

The framerates during the cutscenes are intentionally lower than the ones in MGS2 because the texture quality is much higher. It's the same sort of thing they Square used in Vagrant Story.
