Still no Left 4 Dead thread?
Almost all of my free time has been spent playing this game since it released, and it still hasn't gotten old, even with the present amount of content. If you like zombies and FPS's, then you definitely need to get this game. The biggest plus (among its many pluses) is it's ridiculous replayability, thanks to the game's AI director.
Unlike so many other games that are largely reliant on enemy set pieces, every time you play Left 4 Dead, it's a different experience. You may find a dozen zombies in a room, or that same room will be completely empty. Hordes of zombies may rush you from any direction at any point, so you always have to be on your toes. And we're talking about the scary fast "28 Days Later" zombies. Not "Shawn of the Dead" lethargic ones.
If it was just these zombies, the game wouldn't be as much fun. It's the special zombies that make the game especially challenging, frightening, and fun. And none of this involves interaction with other users. It's all part of the incredibly refined AI system. Add other people, and it gets crazy fun. Especially versus mode, where you can play as either the human survivors or the special zombies.
There isn't much in the way of content now, but as with Team Fortress 2, Valve will be constantly adding material to keep the game fresh, even though you could play through the same stage 30 times and get a different experience each play-through.
And if anyone has an account on Steam, my username is "Rayado Ranger". Killing zombies with other SGers would just be fantastic.

Just get it for PC. Don't bother with the XBox version. Download Steam, buy the game, and play online for free. Two reasons:
1.) FPS's without a mouse are cumbersome and
2.) updates on your PC through Steam are free. None of this baloney about paying for patches like the XBox. That's the beauty of playing games like Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead on the PC. As long as you've got a fairly recent computer and an internet connection, you can play. And none of that monthly subscription bullshit.

Got the game for christmas and it is quite fun provided you have a competent team that sticks together. All it takes is one or two assholes to move on ahead to ruin the experience as someone that's a little bit behind will usually get caught by a smoker and killed because noone is around to help.
Those final missions where you are doing last stands before getting rescued are so intense and are the best part about the levels.
If you guys want to play online sometime hit me up for a match. My XBL is KyoshiroTodou.
