How many 5-year olds could you take down?
The question: How many 5 year-olds could you take on at once?
The specifics:
- You are in an enclosed area, roughly the size of a basketball court. There are no foreign objects.
- You are not allowed to touch a wall.
- When you are knocked unconscious, you lose. When they are all knocked unconscious, they lose. Once a kid is knocked unconscious, that kid is "out."
- I (or someone else intent on seeing to it you fail) get to choose the kids from a pool that is twice the size of your magic number. The pool will be 50/50 in terms of gender and will have no discernable abnormalities in terms of demographics, other than they are all healthy Americans.
- The kids receive one day of training from hand-to-hand combat experts who will train them specifically to team up to take down one adult. You will receive one hour of "counter-tactics" training.
- There is no protective padding for any combatant other than the standard-issue cup.
* The kids are motivated enough to not get scared, regardless of the bloodshed. Even the very last one will give it his/her best to take you down.
Note: The magic number is the number of kids you reckon you can take down.

Also, if you're pushed into a wall you are STILL DQ'ed regardless of doing it willingly or not.

I think kids are stronger than you think and if they came at you one at a time you'd get through about 100 before your arms got tired from knocking them out. If they went for me all at once I could probably handle about 7 or 8 but I dunno about more, they'd climb you, bite you and cling to you, it would be hard, like fighting a pack of angry monkies.

It's basically a quiestion of endurance, and what tactic is necesary to ward off an infinite number of biters before they overcome you. Think of them as little zombies with no thought patterns or feelings other than your death and demise.- You are in an enclosed area, roughly the size of a basketball court. One would eventually become engulfed in these bastards unless you could get close to a corner immediately. Then I would engage backhanding from side to side along with some heel kicks to the head for my front.
I'd be toast the second I got bit tho.

Depends how fast the kids are. I acheived middle ranks in shitori karate and aikido, although the latter would be more useful for taking down the little punks. My biggest problem in both arts is speed, despite decent technique and knowledge of the mechanics.
From the drills in aikido from taking down multiple attackers, I probably could take advantage of the doubled density since one of my better talents was strategic placement of combatants on the field. I'm also really slippery in getting out of locks and holds, despite my build.
So I'd say 20-30 easily, and maybe 40-50 if they're all FUBU thugged up dressed Lil' Bow Wow looking tykes (less guilt).

Where do you take aikido? I've been thinking about taking it again, but only came up with going to that darn 7:30 class down at UH. That means I'd have to wake up at about 5 and leave at 6-630 to make it in time driving from Ewa side...Reiji wrote:Depends how fast the kids are. But yeah, definitely, use of the tight space, smashing them into each other, maybe a couple of irimi nages here and there...

Five year olds have an attention span of about 7-8 minutes. Even if they did receive a full day of training, they wouldn't pay attention. And even if they did pay attention, they wouldn't remember shit or try to put it in use.
Plus you only lose when you're knocked unconscious. How would a five year old render an adult unconcious? This is what I'd like to know. You may get worn out, but you can just lie there and let them climb all over you and eventually you'll be able to get up again and take out some more... well, if you can get up
On the downside, 5 year olds are both the perfect height and bathroom humour level to want to take genital/ass shots. And they will. In my case this would incite my ass smacking bitchy wrath.

yeah, i think that the ability to take them down would really depend on how many there are. if there were like 50 of them I probably wouldn't be able to get one because they'd be all over you and basically render your ability to move impossible, and eventually you'd suffocate or something. If there were only a half-dozen, it'd be much easier.

I think I would go with five.
That'd leave a good chance of getting one chick into there, while leaving few guys to be dealt with first~

This thread is crap.
When it comes to five-year-old kids, I don't think there is any difference in term of size or strength between boys and girls. Neither in term of combativity, actually. Just different fighting styles : the girls will probably bite and scratch more (and fight generally more viciously) than the boys, who usually just kick and punch.
Boys are easier to take down, IMO, you just have to hit them in the balls.
