Will it be better? Do you have plans to make it better regardless of how fucked it is at large? Will we all listen to the Vampire Weekend song “2021” on repeat?

Anyway, quick, it’s almost here! It’s spreading fast! Some parts of the world have caught it already!

I hadn't heard of this song so I gave it a listen -- I hope never to listen to it again.

Having the week off over the holidays was really nice (and really needed). I came back feeling refreshed.

I realized that 2020 was very much like being swept away in a current and just staying afloat. There wasn't a lot of self-direction, and definitely a lot of feeling stuck, even with things that in theory I had control over in day to day life. It's been a rough time.

I decided 2021 needs intent, and started on a few personal things daily.

But yeah, less than a week in now and I'm just over it... We're only halfway through this shitshow. The thought of continuing on like this for another 8 months is kind of unfathomable. And very quickly some of my self care is coming undone already -- there is actually good reason why several things have lapsed in this hellish landscape.

Actually answering the questions in the first post, my plans for 2G21 are to hang in there, carry on building my Twitch channel (Talking Real) while being stuck at home, and to turn 40 while in Tokyo. Already have flights paid for in November, so I've got my fingers crossed that the vaccine works on a worldwide scale.
Reality: I'm ill 8 days into the year. I don't -think- it's COVID, but am awaiting the test results.
