Metroid Prime 3 is an aberration in that it actually appeals to The Nintendo Faithful™ from 1985.

Wii appeals to moms and grandmas, which is so utterly goddamn wrong to the intrinsic gamer community, but is so fucking perfect to a company actually wanting to make money.

The lack of backwards compatibility is madness.
I'm guessing the vast majority of people who went and bought a PS3 go and play more PS2 games on it.

Heck, that's what I loved so much about my PS2. In the early days before any of the big sellers came out, I could just go back to my old loved Psone collection.

I know it's selfish, but I pretty much expect backwards compatibility as a standard in any next-gen machine.

Yea it's funny how many versions of PS3 they need to make so consumers can actually want to buy one. First the 60 then 20 gigs with no wireless, then the 80 gig with MOTORSTORM then the 1 gig with the cheeseburger and the 5 gig with the coconut maker. I'd personally wait for the 10 gig that spits out cheesecakes.

Why is that? No one uses BC anyway. And you get a Blu-Ray player as a bonus and free online, which should easily complement the no BC part.

I use BC. That's why the lack of it would annoy me.

And I'm not one for Blu-Ray either. If it offers more storage and thus potentially better games than HDDVD, that's fine, but I'm not bothered about actually buying films and stuff on it. I don't look at a film and think 'That was great, but if the resolution was just that bit higher!'

now that would be a huge mistake, the demand is just that big, sony has alot of problems supplying the huge demands, which explains the lower than expected sales. i waited one month for my ps3 and it was so worth it.

The demand is so large, the Gamestops have so many units so they can keep it sealed and boxed for themselves so when they go to the storage to pick up a Wii or 360, then can look at the shiny new boxes. True story.

My sister's house got robbed a couple of nights ago. They took her PS3, Xbox, Wii and a bunch of other stuff. She is seriously fucking bored right now.

That is the danger of owning something as amazing as a ps3.

The RDM was at K-Mart over the weekend buying a bike pump (he likes to pump bikes), and he wandered over to the game section, as is his wont, to overhear an employee say that he's never actually seen anyone buy a PS3 while he was working, and he works in the game section full time.

They had about 12 PS3's sitting in the case.

No Wii's, though. 2 360's.
