The Official Smash Bros Brawl Thread

Post by Damien »

Nintendo have launched the internation website for the Wii melee fighter (http://www.smashbros.com/) so I've decided to start a thread :E

New information on the music has been revealed too.
Apparently Koji Kondo will be joined by Akihiro Honda ([google]Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots[/google]), Hajime Wakai ([google]Pikmin[/google] and [google]Star Fox[/google]), Jun Fukuda ([google]Killer 7[/google] and [google]Contact[/google]), Yoko Shimomura ([google]Kingdom Hearts[/google]), Masato Kouda ([google]Monster Hunter[/google] and [google]Devil May Cry[/google]), Yasunori Mitsuda ([google]Chrono Trigger[/google] and [google]Xenogears[/google]) and Tomoko Sasaki ([google]NiGHTS[/google]) in supplying music for the sountrack :o

This (and the inclusion of MGS's Snake as one of the initially revealed characters) sort of hints towards a far broader range of playable characters than just nintendo's own favourites this time.
SHould be interesting anyway. It's one of just three Wii games that'll be a sure Get's![/google][/spoiler]

Well it seems Capcom are in it, as far as the music goes, so hopefully.
I just hope they don't get tempted and stick in real fighting game characters.

This game...

The RDM lives for SSB.

He must sell off everything he owns in order to afford a Wii.

The RDM can't wait to beat the bloody crap out of Solid Snake.

Edit> Real fighting game characters are allowed under NO circumstances. Megaman is allowed/encouraged, as is Sonic (but not most of Sonic's crappy buddies)

The RDM owns a TV, it just happens to be one that was purchased for $80 at Walmart about 5 years ago, and has since had a large gauge take out of it by a falling door.

The RDM doesn't own much of value.

The number of characters is already crazy shit, and that's not even taking into account the obligatory unlockables @_@

Hopefully the game is released some time in the next few years though.

Super Smash brothers brawl is on my list of games to buy, right next to harvest moon tree of peace (who knew a game about farming could be so addictive... but the D.s version is fun)

umm... not that its any of my business, but you guys do know you spelled discussion wrong right?

hmm, I don't know, I was just looking at the names of all the forums and noticed that this one said game descushion? But there obviously was a purpose behind it. I guess I'll go with it?

I will go explore the forums some more I guess

The reason lies in a thread from about a year ago. I'm sure if you search the site for the word you'll find it soon enough.
It's hard to explain without seeing the complete history, as it were :p

Okay, I'll look into it.

Prepare to be underwhelmed.

Yes, it was quite disappointing. I was just wondering what the big deal was. I felt kind of stupid myself since I didn't know if the word had secret meaning or something. But it was just another Illite noob wandering hopelessly around the interwebs.
I was looking for a site to escape those kind of people, but I guess no matter where you go you can't lose them entirely

They don't stick around. Not like they used to.

Why, back in the day, there was a thread called "This scared teh besus monkeys out of my ass" or something like that.

That was a few relaunches ago, though.

Before Sektor Seven.

I see, well I haven’t ran into anyone questionable in my time here (only 2 days...?)
But this site has allowed me to have some peace from constant spam. I get actual replies to my questions, and not some useless sequences of dots and letters! For this I thank you.

Man, you two either have really high standards or just plain no taste. Perhaps you just haven't seen the two archived threads "black metal Fang spelling thread" and "The Your Face Brigade is comin soon." In fact, this thread made me look at those threads again today and they are still comedy gold in my books.

Hmm, actually I just found the thread titled "game descushion" Started by black metal fang. I didn't know there was more. Poor research on my part I guess?

But I wasn't actually trying to find out this guys life story here on SG, I only wanted to know the meaning behind why the forum was named "Game descushion"

I suppose I'll go look at those later on.

Well, whether you read them or not, just know that a lot more went into the decision to make this forum "Game Descushion" than just one post with a spelling error. There was a whole lot of build up with that post just being the jump off point (okay, it probably would have been done anyway, I mean it is a particularly atrocious and hilarious misspelling).

The RDM thinks it's kind of funny, but more in a "You had to be there" way than anything else.

You're probably right. It's still funny to me reading it again, but maybe it wouldn't be if I hadn't been there in the first place. Still there's some things that I didn't recall (maybe I didn't even see them the first time), like Jeff's comment about babysitting by making posts, that I just find outrageously funny and which I think stand well enough on their own within the context of the thread.

The first thing I thought when I saw the image of the character you won with was: Sora from Kingdom Hearts? Then I decided I probably shouldn't ignore the wings and figured it was Icarus, probably.
