I've never desired a remake of any of these games either. I'd rather have a completely original new FF game than a remake.

FFVIII is fine as it is, all a remake would do is slightly improve the graphics, which are already great.

FFVII is the only remake I'd like to see. With shit graphics, sound, and translation it's hard to not see the merits of one.

FFVII remade with re-mastered (or perhaps more orchestral versions) music and I would be happy for the rest of my life. I dont know about this spin off but there is always a possibility of it being decent. Yet every time Square has tried to venture into the action genre it ends up failing, even if it comes up with some great ideas. Cloud was my hero in my younger days, at least I get to see him in the CG

Xenosaga began to wear on me no matter how hard I tried to continue playing it. The first 35 hours were unstoppable, but finals came up at the end of April, I stopped playing for a few weeks and then I just couldn't pick it back up regardless of the several attempts to jump back into the story. I always feel like it's a waste to devote a good amount of time into an RPG, especially one that will continue for as long as Xenosaga promises to do, and then bail on the whole endeavor. Oh well...

Vincent is cool and all, but this FFVII sequel trend is getting on my nerves...
Beside the obvious "Square is milking its main series" comment, I must say I rather liked the mysterious, open-to-interpretation ending of FFVII. Direct sequels like that spoil every fan speculations

I don't really mind it, mostly because I will consider the FF VII's ending a proper ending for it. It doesn't seem like Advent Children will pick up right where they left off, so I wouldn't put it as a direct sequel, since the game ends 500 or so years later, and it seems like Advent Children is picking right up before that.
