Got a science degree, didn't like lab work, went into law instead, now I run my own environmental law research practice. I don't make much money at it, but I love what I do, and I've proven wrong all the people who insisted that I would have to cut my hair and wear a tie in order to hold down a "real" job.
How about yourself? I have fond memories of our old ICQ chats about theology.

Not cutting hair or wearing ties is the best.

Also got a science degree. Didn't care for the research work. Now I'm working at the crossroads of science and law .... patent examination.
I know, but at least it pays.

No. No, I do not.
I usually wear a tie if an attorney comes for an in-person (rather than telephone) interview, which has happened exactly twice in my 2.75 years of working there.

Well, Yuka never posted. I mean, I put odds against her posting, but still would have been nice.

Did you build that statue?
Alternate question: Is that a screenshot of SGRPG?

I'm wondering how the word spread about this outside IRC. Was it all Damien or did most of you extend your tendrils to reach out to people?

I think it was pretty much all Damien from conception to execution. He did a good job. It was pretty successful I think.

There might be a way out of it? Entr0pi3 might have something to say on the matter but she probably doesn't even know it's SG Day

Yeah, what the heck? How could you not even get your sister to post today, Calbrena? Bad form!
Not that I got my sister to post either, but I don't even think she ever registered for this version of SG, so it's not the same.

Why is SG so slow, Damian? Is it an attempt to maximize nostalgia and emulate 56k?

Damien probably sees my sister more often than I do and he lives in the same time zone as her, would have been much easier for him to contact her

Been in Singapore for nearly 2 years now. No UK because I'm not British
Also, they've just re-elected Cameron so no way I'd consider living there within the next few years. And with current Brexit talks it's not very encouraging
@Lord Golbez, Damien lives in the same time zone as Entr0pi3 but not in the same post code, it would probably take a while if he tried walking to her place

Well, got my graphic design degree just when the economy tanked in 2008. All those newspaper and magazines closed down, making getting a job hard, as if it weren't hard enough
