He’d be 69 (;)) today but he died 20 years ago this coming May (:(). I remember when I heard that he’d died and felt sad. As a boomer atheist comedy writer who was friends with Richard Dawkins, I wonder if he’d be an insufferable asshole today? I like to think not, but who knows!! I think his daughter plays football now (the English kind, like in Ted Lasso).

Anyway, let’s all share a long, dark teatime of the soul for Douglas.
