Vibing_V · Post by **Vibing_V** » Sun Oct 25, 2020 8:38 pm

Damn, now I want curry too.

I've been eating leftover greek food and giant chocolate cake for the past couple of days. On Friday H made some potato bacon chowder - will have some of that today. Mmmm delicious chowder. And more cake of course.

I have five portions in the freezer. It’s vegan as well.

WaWard · Post by **WaWard** » Sun Oct 25, 2020 10:44 pm

I made risotto.
It was decidedly not Vegan, but also decidedly vegetarian, which is the best type of vegan anyway

Damien · Post by **Damien** » Sun Oct 25, 2020 11:09 pm

I made risotto too often earlier this year and got sick of it.

WaWard · Post by **WaWard** » Sun Oct 25, 2020 11:29 pm

I could see this as something you get sick of.

Lord Golbez · Post by **Lord Golbez** » Mon Oct 26, 2020 12:52 am

I am used turmeric, cumin, and paprika because that's what It have and it's pretty good, even though it only has two of Vivaldi's's seasonings. Gotta get some garam masala.

Fei Ayanami · Post by **Fei Ayanami** » Mon Oct 26, 2020 1:00 am

I made some quite simple but very tasty leek soup. ‘Fraid it had an egg in it.

Lord Golbez · Post by **Lord Golbez** » Mon Oct 26, 2020 2:00 am

Leek soup? What's that like?

Fei Ayanami · Post by **Fei Ayanami** » Mon Oct 26, 2020 2:22 am

Tasty and easy! This is the one I made. You can probably leave out the egg or sub it. http://www.czechcookbook.com/leek-soup-porkova-polevka/

Mitsurugi CP · Post by **Mitsurugi CP** » Mon Oct 26, 2020 2:46 am

Doesn't look hard. Just don't forget to Czech for leeks.

Lord Golbez · Post by **Lord Golbez** » Mon Oct 26, 2020 4:48 am

Yeah, you gotta watch those leeks or else there will be dirt in your soap.

In 1292 AD, John Balliol is selected by King Edward I of England as King of Scotland, from among 13 competitors for the Crown of Scotland; Edward then treats John as a puppet ruler and Scotland as a vassal state, eventually provoking the Wars of Scottish Independence, commencing in 1296. Not to get ahead of ourselves—but who knows if more interesting things will be happening at the close of the century, so that I totally ignore these.

Damien · Post by **Damien** » Mon Oct 26, 2020 1:10 pm

Is this King Edward the one the potatoes are named after?

Mitsurugi CP · Post by **Mitsurugi CP** » Mon Oct 26, 2020 1:24 pm

I choose to believe they were named after Edward V, being the most potato-shaped of the all the English monarchs named Edward.

Fei Ayanami · Post by **Fei Ayanami** » Mon Oct 26, 2020 2:11 pm

Are there King Edward potatoes? Closest thing that comes to mind are Prince Edward Island potatoes. But those are named after an island.

Damien · Post by **Damien** » Mon Oct 26, 2020 2:20 pm

King Edwards are a pretty common potato here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Edward_potato

Fei Ayanami · Post by **Fei Ayanami** » Mon Oct 26, 2020 2:40 pm

Named after King Edward VII in 1G902.

I'm having some potato bacon chowder that we made a few days ago. Looking forward to when we pull out the frozen portions at some yet undetermined time.

Today will be the last portion of giant chocolate cake.
