If Genshiken is license you can be damn sure that Solar will drop the project, which puts me in a bit of a bind since I havn't been keeping up with the raws and the subs will be hard to find.

In any case, the torrents haven't been axed yet, even though Solar HAS dropped it, so I suggest you get downloading!
Like I have that kind of harddrive to download 7 or so episodes in small timeframe before the torrents are removed. I'll leech off of a friend when the time comes.
Solar is one of the few fansub groups who still follow the "rules" of fansubs so even though the show is not licenesed there are signs that a company will license the series and thats good enough for them to drop it. It's dissapointing since I consider them to be the best fansub group currently exisitng right now and I don't think any other group will do nearly as good of a job as they do. Hell, if Media Factory is getting the licenese (they probably will at some point in time) then I don't think even they could do nearly as good of a job as Solar.

Here's a quick rundown so far for people who are interested:
- Solar has dropped Genshiken, no word from Faith.
- Keep will continue Gankutsuou, and presumably Kraze as well (since Kraze doesn't give a fuck anyway).
- WF will continue School Rumble.
- No word from Lunar regarding Akane Maniax.
WF pretty much sums up what I think of the situation (with a little roleplaying on their forums):
But yeah, in conclusion, fuck off MF.
Edit: seems like Lunar = droppage.

WF pretty much sums up what I think of the situation (with a little roleplaying on their forums):
I'd like to note that I find it amusing that Lunar was targeted about Akane even though they DIDN'T release their version until after the retail version came out in Japan. It was Nanashi that jumped the gun on the leaked raws. The meeting concluded today with only a partial conclusion. Nonetheless, it states that WannabeFansubs.net and its direct affiliates will take an "indifferent" approach to this issue. This response came following Anime-Keep's pledge to continue fansubbing Gankutsuou until further notice, and Scarywater disregarding "licensing" issues that are not within the North American region. WannabeFansubs will follow suit and continue to fansub School Rumble as per the usual routine. WF has and will continue to provide through its members' hard work and devotion free fansubs to School Rumble fans until further notice.
Details:
The School Rumble Project Chair, Ohmer, stated in his brief press holding this afternoon that he feels that there is still ample ethical grounds in which WF can continue fansubbing School Rumble. "We have tried our best to help promote School Rumble and create an environment for fans who do not understand Japanese to convene. We have never asked for a dime, but instead just the understanding of the publishers that we mean no harm," he stated. He reinforced the fact that WF's target audience is completely distinct and separate from those of the Japanese firm, and thus does not cause a conflict of interest. MusashiKen, Manager of Quality Control at WF hinted the same idea, "School Rumble is aired for free on Japanese public TV. We are simply reproducing it for an English-speaking audience."
The founder of WannabeFansubs was not available for comment during press time, however, WannabeFansubs.net domain owner and webmaster Bantam claims, "They have no legal grounds whatsoever as far as the website is concerned. The tracker is run by a third party and is not directly affiliated with WannabeFansubs.net." So far no legal claims have been filed concerning torrent links on the website.
Further investigations also reveal that the reason why the Tokyo lawfirm had originally sent AnimeSuki.com and LunarAnime the letters of warning, was because a particular affilliate company was displeased with "Akane Maniax" being available on fansub before DVD. They found no mention of "School Rumble" in particular. WF thus finds this incident to be furthermore, possibly irrelevant to its current operations. Therefore WF will exercise indifference until there is solid evidence that Media Factory has the correct/relevant legal claim, and displays a conclusive will to shutdown WF's School Rumble works.

Yeah this show has an awesome way of just completely surprising you with absolutely excellent little bits here and there. I mean I didn't see that coming at all, especially given the mood they had already set.

Melody of Oblivion gets immesely better about midway through the series. I was pretty skeptical about the beginning of the series but it wasn't until episodes 12+ that I started enjoying the show much more.
