Boxart:

I like when demos are included with games, like previews on a dvd.
Not somuch by themselves.

Re: Nintendo DS Thread(Price and Release date?)
the ds looks pretty ridiculous to me. nintendo needs to be a software only company and everytime they try to release a new console/handheld, it just makes me laugh
The psp makes me laugh even more!
PSP PR: This thing is just as powerful as the ps2!
People: WOW!
PSP PR: And you can put it in your pocket!
People: WOW!
PSP PR: The battery life will suck, though, so you'll have to play it while it's plugged in the wall.
People: WHATS THE POINT THEN U FUCKING MORONS

Re: Nintendo DS Thread(Price and Release date?)
I went to Wal Mart today and played Metroid on the DS.
All of my expectations were met as far as graphics are concerned. Even on the touch screen. It has the ability to push way better graphics than what the maps shots show. There are animations at the beginning of the game that use both screens to show a full body view of Samus.
Another plus is the backlit LCD, a late decision IMO that should have been included w/the SP. Nonetheless I had no problems seeing the screen at arms distance as the DS is in that annoying little theft device bolted to the gamecase at the display.
The touch screen as I hoped, is operable with the naked finger. Aside from the stylus, the wrist strap has a pad that fits around your thumb to allow quick transfer from the D pad to the touch screen.

I didn't get to play the game much- but I was more or less testing ergonomics, operation etc for the hardware than I was checking out the game (never enough time).
What I saw looked promising enough, although it'll be an adjustment using the 2nd screen for weapon browsing, rolling into a ball, and perusing status screens while in action. All in all I suggest you give the little guy a chance.
Gawd I can't wait to hook up w/my buddies and play Wario Ware wirelessly.
Overall first impression rating: 8/10

The DS looks like a cheap piece of hardware, but I'll probably buy it anyways
When it comes to looks, the PSP definately blows the DS out of the water. Hopefully the games released will do more than just play off the 2-screen/touch screen gimmick.
Now the PSP on the other hand, although it seems to be popular to hate on it, I'm more so looking forward to that.

Re: Nintendo DS Thread(Price and Release date?)
I just played it at EB. Not so impressed with it. Even being as big a Metroid freak as I am, Hunters wasn't enough to get my engines reving over this new system. That coupled with the fact that there are no games I see coming out for it that I simply must have, I see myself not owning one until they're like $50.
I'm not saying I couldn't be swayed by a good game however. If Crystal Chronicals for it turns out to be good I may have to get one. I found the first one to be plenty fun with friends.

I don't see any pressing need to quest from store to store on release day. I can wait a month or two, especially seeing as the full version of Metroid isn't shipping for a while.
Not to say I wouldn't buy one if I saw one, but I have no patience for the holiday stampede that's all too common this time of year.
Now, if Namco makes a Katamari Damacy DS...

Good luck. They're backordered every-damn-where.
I only bought mine because if I hadn't have, it would be March before I saw another one.
Oh, and all five control schemes in Metroid are horrible - they're trying to half-ass a dual control scheme similar to PC FPS's.
This doesn't bode well, as it suggest MPH will be a more traditional FPS in the vein of every-damn-thing-else instead of the exploratory miracle the two Cube games pull off.

I dunno what to ask for xmas, maybe I should tell my parents to get one of these?

Why would you want to pay $211 for a $150 system?

There is a gba Mr Driller as far as i know. Of course it's nigh on impossible to get a hold of.
There's at least Mr Driller 2 on gba (4-player mode
) but as far as I know it wasn't released outside of Japan.
Chris, did you get it?
