Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance
I have seen four of the ten episodes now and feel I can safely declare that this is the most epic puppet show ever produced.
Seriously, it’s very good. It’s very much like the Dark Crystal film was spliced with the DNA of Game of Thrones. (The early, more gooder Game of Thrones.) Anybody else watching it?

Yes, I watched it. I don't know about Game of Thrones. Even though there is bloodshed it's a little hard to take it as seriously. Not with Chamberlain constantly making sounds that wouldn't seem out of place on The Muppet Show. That said, Chamberlain is a GOT worthy manipulator.
It was confusing to me that it was a prequel because it seemed to me like it was contradicting a plot point from the movie early on. Later on it became clear that it wasn't, but I still think they made things a little unclear/confusing in that regard.

This was a beautifully...animated? puppeteered? Whatever. It looks really good. Something small that definitely stood out to me was how the movement of each Skeksis was subtly unique, but stood out the most with the Hunter.
I really enjoyed the episode where we are introduced to the Heretic and the Wanderer. It brought some much needed levity to an otherwise heavy fantasy series that still feels like it's made for a younger audience. I still have to wonder how the other Skekses can't see thorough the Chamberlain's manipulations, especially SkekTal. Kinda seems like
the dude who tried to steal your restorative potion and then blamed you for the theft isn't someone who you can easily trust just because he brings you a couple of slaves.
Well, they left room for one bur I'm maybe a bit disappointed that they did. The nore they drag it out the more chance they have to ruin it.smeared ink wrote:I did finish this a short while back and I really loved it. I am very happy they’re doing a second season.
Did anybody else watch the behind-the-scenes feature on Netflix?

I believe it’s been confirmed they will do one.
Here’s a theory from my life partner that I think could be true
The movie makes it out that all but two Gelflings have been killed, but perhaps a bunch of them will go underground/elsewhere to hide out during the period covered by the film.
There's a couple of graphic novels that came out a couple years ago, and it's implied thatsmeared ink wrote:I believe it’s been confirmed they will do one.
Jen and Kira, after being entrusted with the crystal by the Urskeks, use it to restore the Gelfling. It is not explained what is meant by that, so it's pretty open to interpretation.
This was really great! Hugo had me watch the movie with him a while back in preparation. We watched the first episode together and it was pretty ... intense. Lots happening. It took me a couple of episodes to kind of get into it, but that's fairly normal for most shows.
The whole show was intense really! But very good. The cinematic/production quality is amazing. So many little details of scenery.
Can't wait for season 2!
Hup is best character. Hup for president!
