Discord isn't a good substitute for a forum because it just has channels not threads. That makes it a substitute for IRC, not forums. Also, while you can read old messages a lot better than IRC, Discord is much less well designed for reading back too far when you miss stuff.

HKK would change the topic to something entirely different and more random/bonkers whenever somebody came up with a decent counter argument. The one time I piped in, I got told my opinion doesn't matter because I'm from an inferior country

This conversation resulted in somebody (can't remember who) changing the Discord name from Geekspot to SquareGamer, a politics channel being created (and slow mode swiftly being turned on) and HKK rage quitting the discord.
