I noticed the date after eating it

Should I check into the ER right away?

How expired? Yogurt does sound like one of the worse things you can eat expired. Not sure if ER is warranted though. At worst, you'll probably just vomit it.

Yogurt is actually one of the least worst things to eat expired. At least if it isn’t obviously moldy or totally rank, which I must assume it was not considering you ate it. In my experience, yogurt can persist past its expiry date like almost no other dairy product. (But it can also get furry right on schedule.)

I’ve eaten ones a few days past their date loads of times. Can we pick a top answer, so we can close this Yahoo Questions thread?

Expiry dates are arbitrary most of the time, anyway. One time I ate an MRE that was 5 years past its date of expiration. It tasted awful, but then, the same MRE that was still unexpired was just as bad.

I'll tell you one thing I don't get after/on or preferably even close to expiration date: bagged leafy greens. I prefer to get them a solid week or more before the expiration date. I've been too frequently burned on green that were a couple days before the expiration date, but still don't pass the smell test after opening. Plus, as we've established earlier, if I have leftover greens they may rot in my fridge, so best not to give them a headstart.

Some packaged vegetables and fruit will last for, and be just as good weeks after the expiration date. I often buy heavily discounted bananas that apparently go bad that day, and still need to ripen them for a few days. Food waste is a cog in the capitalism machine though, and best before dates help them turn :/

All yogurts are just expired milk, so if anything it will give it even more flavor!

Have a nice day

Bananas are an exception. I've never looked at expuration dates on bananas or even noticed they uad one, but I wouldn't trust it because of how common it is for places to serve grotesquely underripe bananas.

As people have said though, yogurt is off by nature anyway, so unless it tastes bad and is visibly growing mould, it's almost certainly fine.

That's what I was thinking. Expired yogurt > podcasts.

Podcasts seemed like a pretty good topic to me. I was a bit surprised it generated so little discussion.

I don't listen to podcasts. No reason, just never got into any. I have, however, eaten allegedly expired food many times. And eaten unexpired stuff only to realize that it turned on its own schedule.

It's because we're old farts, not trendy kids. We're more likely to rattle on about taxes, the queue in the post office or, indeed, expired yogurt than have a cool podcast recommendation to share

Makes sense. My error was in thinking that my lack of podcast listening wasn't representative.
