I'm drinking one now. This is the best root beer I've ever had in my life.

I had this butterscotch cream soda recently. Pretty bomb. Liquid Werther's ftw.

Abita is pretty good, but I still default to Virgil's.

Know what’s good? Espresso shot (cold) in ginger beer. Or whatever’s the closest approximation to an espresso shot you can wrangle.

My favorite so far has been Sprecher's, out of Milwaukee. But I haven't had Abitas to compare it against.

I got mine at Bevmo.

I've had both and Abita comes out on top for me. It's been too long for me to recall the specifics but I remember Virgil's not blowing me away like Abita.

The RDM is sad that Virgil's Dr. Better seems to not be a thing anymore. Their root beer is fantastico, though.

Never heard of this Abita madness.

Abita's a Louisiana brewery, they probably don't distribute this far north. Kind of a big deal in Louisianan but the only thing I've had from there was a hefeweizen that I wasn't really big on.

Yeah they make alcohol as well apparently but I've only ever had their root beer. I'd definitely recommend giving it a taste. You can see if it's in your area using the search field in the upper right corner of their site. https://abita.com/brews/abita-root-beer

I used to make root beer floats with my grandfather when I was a kid so finding a really tasty brand is particularly nostalgic for me.
