rofl someone in the game mentioned Lurelin Village and I was like "wait, Lurelin Village?" I looked it up online. Apparently there's a town I still haven't been to.

Yeah. It's an out of the way not very big deal town. I found it pretty late wandering aroubd. There's some quests there but it's not a big deal.

Weirdly I ended with exactly an equal nunber of Korok seeds and shrines.

You should get a special ending for that.

It added something? I just got all the memories because I wanted all the memories.

That's why I got it too but Damien said it added something to the ending.

Recently when playing I wandered around the Great Plateau a bit (usually if I did return it was a beeline to the Temple of Time and then outta there) and felt weirdly nostalgic. Probably because it's a part of the game I played almost a year ago.

It did remind me how clever I think the start of the game is, though; put the player in a high place where they can see the distant wonders of the world, but briefly can't escape from. Though even that small area felt pretty big at first.

I didn't really like the start of the game much and so didn't really care to return. Why return to the Temple of Time?

That would have been the largest area of the game in Skyward Sword

It was just the place I went for awhile when I got 4 shrine orb thingies. There are more convenient ones, but it was a long time before I committed any of them to memory.

Skyward Sword felt so restrictive, even by pre-BotW standards. Sad Still wish I'd finished it. I did think the Wii-mote swordplay was neat.

I remember the official UK Nintendo magazine in the 90's once reporting that Shigeru Mitamoto said that the world in Ocarina of time was going to be so big, it may be bigger than the real world. What a fucking lie that was!

I usually used the one in Kakariko.

I visited Lurelin. It reminded me of Wind Waker!

I also climbed Mt Lanaryuauyu which apparently I never did??? And I freed that icy dragon. Geez the shit I've missed. Anyway I am in the castle now with the intention of finishing the game, but it's time for sleep so I'll hopefully finish next time I play.

Yeah. The ending was ridiculously underwhelming. Even for a Zelda game.

I also have no idea what percent I've completed, nor was I offered a chance to make a pointless new pre-Ganon save file after the ending. Maybe these are Switch exclusive features.

Ending was bad (in that I had to Google to see if it was really the ending or if I'd somehow lost or accidentally skipped a scene). The whole story is very downplayed though. People who talk about Zelda stories being "epic" clearly have no fucking idea.

I don't remember getting either of these things, but I might have just missed it I guess.... I didn't care anyway. I'm pretty well done with the game for now.

Yeah I don't care. In theory I'd have liked a post-Ganon mode where the castle is less Ganon-y and everything is basically the same except for maybe some easter eggs and people being like "hey thanks for helping brah, time to rebuild" but I appreciate how hard that would be to do well in such a huge game, and I also would then feel obliged to explore a lot more now, which I don't feel like doing.

Me too. I mostly climbed around it, especially after my vague goal to explore the inside was foiled by them throwing a Lynel in my path.

That Lynel pissed me off. I broke a bunch of weapons on that thing. I fought it on my first venture into the castle though and was pretty careful to avoid the area on future trips (the blood moon arrived several times between my first venture and my final one).

That blood moon can be pretty annoying. I'd probably have gone on a general castle-wide killing spree, but the thought of a blood moon coming along in the middle of it was too disheartening.

It was the first and only one I fought and I encountered it with barely any decent weapons. Killing it was good.

Is it just me or did the blood moons seem to become more frequent as the game went on? Probably just seemed that way.
