Tisanes don't count. I have no clue why they're called herbal tea in English when there's zero tea in them.

That's fair. I couldn't decide because there was no page 1 canon on the issue. Anything after page 1 is of unclear canonicity.

I received a Zojirushi water boiler/warmer and some Yun Wu tea as a gift from a friend. So between that and this very cold weather, I've been drinking a lot of green tea.

I just had a delicious cup of Intelligentsia coffee. I brewed it with my new ceramic V60 cone, but not yet a gooseneck kettle. That's in the mail.

The white ceramic cone here is the V60. The filter they're using seems absurdly large, but whatever floats your boat.

The kettle is a gooseneck kettle, designed to have good control over the flow of water (unlike some coffee cones, the V60 has a large hole at the base, so the brew time is much more controlled by the pour speed--the steady pouring also helps agitate the beans). That's not the one I'm getting, but same basic idea.

I've also been grinding my coffee with one of these for awhile:

It works somewhat like a pepper grinder. Unlike the basic bean-smashing grinders, you can set the grind size.

I do this all while listening to vinyl jazz records.

I wish! Our record player is quite far from our kitchen.

One of our members donated something this a while ago:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HYUNTAQ/ref=asc_df_B01HYUNTAQ5327607/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=395009&creativeASIN=B01HYUNTAQ&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198065490425&hvpos=1o4&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8358351470088310985&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9004247&hvtargid=pla-393712592595

I was more interested in the green tea and jasmine tea she donated on the same day though.

At least it does the job. I tried one of those back in December when we organized a scrabble day, it was decent coffee.

I love the temperature setting. That's great for green teas. I usually just wait for awhile after boiling before brewing green/white teas.

The Zojirushi has a 175 preset for green teas, but I just use the 195 and let the water heat the ceramic cup before I put in the green tea, otherwise the cup cools the water too much and it doesn't taste as good.

Ah! Yes. I've seen tea brewing instructions that involve pouring water in and out of cups, but never done it. I don't brew in cup anyway, but I suppose the same applies to teapots. Perhaps I should pour some boiled water in first to pre-warm it.

There's a bengal spice tea at work and I love it and keep drinking it. <3

These fancy tea and coffee contraptions are very fancy. Very fancy indeed!

Speaking of Celestial Seasonings, I had chamomile last night. It wasn't Celestial Seasonings, but chamomile makes me think of Celestial Seasonings.

I've used the swanky kettle twice now.

It's very pretty and very nice to pour from. Check!

Might as well add a gif to the mix of coffee-brewery images on this page of the tea thread.

I got bored with Yun Wu tea and decided to try that Bengal Spice tea Vibing_V was talking about earlier. It is pretty good.

And some Taylor's English breakfast tea this morning.

I honestly don't know how to describe how it's different from other green teas; I'm not much of a tea aficionado.

It tastes a little smokey (kinda like the difference between scotch and other whiskeys, except not really) and "fresher". Although the green tea I drank before my friend got me this stuff was whatever bagged jasmine tea was available at my grocery store.

Jasmine's good if it's not too much. I've had really good jasmine and also way too strongly scented jasmine.

That is some super cool information and yeah I did always wonder about the fact that tea is pretty much one of two things in just about every language.

I've been drinking that Bengal Spice tea three times a day, and I blame Vibing V for this newfound addiction. It's like how I imagined chai tea would taste like the first time someone described it to me.

I ran out of Bengal Spice tea. Tried an apple-spiced tea today because the cold rain we've been getting is miserable, and warm cinnamon-flavored anything is a good antidote to the weather.

Someone gave me a bag of matcha-flavored kit-kats a while ago, and I finally got around to trying one. They're OK.

Bengal Spice tea sounds like something I should try at some point.

Recently many people have been bringing posh teas at work, such as these:
https://www.davidstea.com/us_en/bestsellers/12-tea-sampler-david-s-top-12-f2017

They're pretty yummy.

I just used my fancy temperature-set coffee kettle for green tea for the first time, setting it to 80 C and using a nice oolong we picked up in Bromont quite awhile back. It came out very nice!

Right? Isn't it amazing? love
At work I make tea in my travel mug. It's pretty sizeable but the bengal spice is very strong so I find my first cup is always a bit too potent. But then it lasts well throughout the rest of the day.

mmmm

Had a cup of mango black tea from Trader Joe's.

It reminded me A LOT of this strawberry oatmeal I used to love when I was a kid until my dad banned it from the house because he was worried the pink packaging was going to make me gay.

My dad's a raging homophobe because his dad was gay and had numerous affairs while married to my grandmother. For many reasons, that made his childhood really difficult.

It's still irrational, but its source is childhood trauma/PTSD rather than indoctrinated bigotry.
