Peppermint bark is a solid offering. Peppermint itself is underrated. Candy Canes are also good. And they're almost free.

I don't really care for candy cane/sticks of rock now that I'm older.

Does peppermint bark have chocolate? That would probably be good. Candy canes are better than candy corn but not great. Also depends on the variety.

Peppermint bark is usually white chocolate with bits of candy cane in it right? It's decent. I'm not a fan of white chocolate in general (it isn't really chocolate! boo) but this is a good pairing.

I'm not sure that I've ever actually had candy corn. Sounds like I've made a wise choice to avoid it. But I do also feel like I've been missing out on a huge cultural phenomenon considering its ubiquity.

Now I want peppermint bark, dammit.

Also rum balls. Rum balls are amazing. (Well, the good ones at least!)

My parents make rum balls and give them to relatives every year. I can't have them because the vanilla wafers they use aren't vegan. Sad

In 448 AD, Emperor Theodosius II (Eastern Roman Empire) achieves a peace treaty with the Huns for the price of 950 kg of gold per year. Part of the treaty is also the evacuation of a long buffer zone (a DMZ of sorts).

Also, Theodosius orders the burning of all non-Christian books!

ROFL. They're just making them the way they've always made them. I can't even remember what's in the wafers that makes them not vegan though.

At least Garbo posted in Garbo's birthday thread this year. He claimed he turned 33, so I guess his turn in the 40th birthday thread will be March 2024.
