Huh? What's the title of the song? Depacito? Escape Depacito? Have You Escape Depacito? I can't tell what this thread title means.

They played it all the time in the hotel I stayed at in Greece last month, so not Greece. Incidentally, I think I've only heard it about twice since returning, so maybe England

Maybe I escaped depacito. It's a Catch-22 though. In order to find out if I escaped depacito, I have to listen to depacito. But then if I listen to it, I won't have escaped it anymore.

You may have not funny escaped it, but are just unaware that it's a 'thing'. I wasn't sure about the word when I first read the title of this thread. Took a few seconds to register.

I have no idea what it is but I guess I might have heard it in a shop or something, if it's a thing currently playing on the radio.

I don't know what funny escaping is. Is that like when you spin your feet around in a circle before you dash off, like on Scooby Doo?

"despacito" which translate into "slowly"

Funny enough, I didn't heard it until a football game this weekend for the first time. I guess I was lucky enough since I only listen to old music and my radio stations are only oldies.

Seems the song has been going around the world like crazy for the past month in the same popularity as macarena and Celine Dion titanic song.

Have a nice day

Edit: Silly me, is despacito, not despasito.. this only happens as I never get to type in spanish anymore...

Kids asked for despacito in car.

I say "no. I can't do that while driving. How about the radio?"
Result: despacito.

Fuck that song

I looked up Despacito and listened to a minute or two of it. Sounds pretty similar to all the other generic radio pop I avoid listening to.

My only exposure to shit I don't want to listen to is if they play it in grocery stores or something like that. Also, maybe sometimes if it plays during a scene in a tv show, I guess.

I sometimes go to the gym and they often play bad music there. Probably I've heard Despacito there given how popular it is, but if so I didn't remember it.

I don't know. They play Adele, things like that. Old songs too, but yeah I think there's some pop in there. At least pop of some decade.

I hadn't heard of it until someone posted some a capella cover on facebook. Then there was some controversy with Bieber forgetting the words and singing about burritos at some party. Then I finally heard it on the radio in my brother's car the other day.

Mr. Green

I wonder if Garbo did/will cover it.

I don't think the song is that bad. I've heard the Bieber version less than the non-Bieber version though.

It's got a Bieber version? Is it the song that goes "Then I saw her face now I'm a Belieber."

I was told he learned it phonetically and doesn't actual know the lyrics. Like me singing most of the Swedish SingStar songs (but more racist).

or even

:-)

I've never heard it. I haven't listened to radio for at least 10 years since discovering Scandinavian folk metal at the end of college. I kinda wanted to create my own radio station just to have my favorite stuff on the air somewhere in the US, but will probably never chase that dream.

So since this thread was first posted, I think I've only heard this song on my own playlists, so I think I've found the answer to the original question. Don't have children and live in England.

Besides hearing it in Greece a lot, I may have not noticed it at all, had I not downloaded the UK top 40 in July and put it on my iPod.

Yeah, top 40 would usually include mostly stuff I want to stay away from rather than what I'd want to listen to.
