I'm happy to officially announce, after three months of almost non stop design and coding, Hype Up.

Click on the link for the official run down on what it's all about. If I wanted to easily explain what it is, I'd say it's facebook + digg + imdb + metacritic + the old SG news site all wrapped up in a sexy looking gaming burrito with some special sauce to boot.
In addition here's a raw feature list of what currently is in place for Hype Up and there's still even more stuff being worked on. I'm extremely proud of it and I think once you see it in action in the next few months after we launch, you'll see the list below doesn't even really do it justice.
Gaming News / Reviews / etc
- Dedicated news team
- Registered users can post to the index page's user news section via wysiwyg editor
- All posts can be assigned a related game which will display game info above the article
- All posts display an ID card for the author with bio info and a link to follow/add friend and links to other posts by author
- Videos from youtube can be added to posts via API search
- front end upload for story related images/screenshots which are automatically catagorized by game, thumbnailed...

Basically it's a way of keeping up-to-date with any Square Enix related news and announcements that may or may not get spoken about here.
We're looking into ways to incorporate Twitter into the site and forums, but until then it's it's own standalone thing.
