I'm a martial artist and I hate DBZ.

There are many reasons, but one of the main one is because "chi" actually exists and is used in the internal martial arts, it is serious stuff. I hate it when I try to have a conversation or waste time explaining how to develop and use your body as a whole and all I get is stupid comments like "Can you throw kamehame (whatever its called)?" Or "Can you turn into a super sayjin?" Its shows like that, that make Americans even more ignorant to the spiritual aspects of martial arts and the culture of some of the orient. When you Americanize these shows, they are watched without the previous culture that the audience was intended for. Although incredibly addicting and "cool" to these little kids, they have no concept that it is an extreme exaggeration of things that might actually be possible (again I said extreme). Like comic books and movies, they take some real life lessons and elements, something that sounds supernatural or extraordinary and exaggerate upon it. Of Course DBZ is almost absolute garbage in many areas.

Although I do remember before the whole little kiddie phase and before Cartoon Network whored Anime, I remember being about 8 years old and watching it at a rare showtime at about 9 in the morning, once a week on a larely unkown channel. I thought it was cool then...Until they exploited it to all the little kids in the US.
