Well if you get your ass beat instantaneously there isn't much time to learn. |

I find it kind of difficult unless I can constantly play against the guy. What's best is finding someone who is on your level and constantly playing against him/her. That way you can compare strategies and sort of improve together. That's how I got awesome at Initial D Arcade Stage |

| I think you learn better if you play against people who are better than you are as it constantly forces you to up your game. Playing someone on your level helps to a certain degree but if you both of you suck than your not getting anywhere to begin with. |

exactly, when i first started playing GGXX#R i routinly got my ass handed to my by Johnny, Venom, Anji, and Dizzy that my friend Kevin played, i also got owned by Baiken, Testament and Ky when my friend Ken played, but i kept playing em, learning new stuff, figuring new stuff out myself, and now i own Ken, and am about even with Kevin... you can always learn from someone better than you, and i dont mean, have them teach you strats n' stuff... hell, i only really know 2 combos with Slayer, but i can set em up in like 48548753 different ways.
I think when playing someone more skilled you have to expect to lose a lot, but dont just get angry at losing, see how you lose, see what he does that always gets you (i know i have a terrible habbit of wanting to use Slayers dash to go through projectiles and always end up eating em ) i can honestly say that i would never have gotten as good as i have hadnt Kevin beaten the fucking shit outa me.... |

Who the hell said I don't get better? Of course I do, but there's a vast amount of difference in tournament expierence and thus skill present here.

That doesn't happen either, it's just really hard to get his Millia off of me, seeing as how I play best with Ky.
I'll play him again in two weeks. I'll try and find some way of taping his matches, or just the matches in general.

I dunno, I played CVS2 with my friend John constantly at an arcade for 25 cents a game, and he was about the same level as me. After playing each other so much we periodically would play the better people, then test other stuff out on each other, then use that in our more serious matches. It led to us getting a lot better and moving up the skill ladder sorta evenly.. as soon as he learned something he would teach it to me, and vice versa. |

That sucks I'm probably going to win the Initial D Version 3 tournament in Maryland, and I've played in some Tekken Tag Tournaments in California and MD. I didn't win either of the state ones (obviously) but in MD I won some arcade tournaments. |

I've been going for five or six months now, but I'm still nervous. It's something that takes quite a whiles to shake off.

Exactly.. my first tourney, I was really nervous and made some pretty dumb mistakes. Luckly for me I drew a pretty shitty player, so after that first bout I got my confidence back, plus my next opponent underestimated my Ken |

I've managed to snag fourth place in all the tournies for GGXX/#R but top three still evades me.
Except the last big one we had, I got peaced out by an I-No. Stupid music note.

For some very good GGXX#R vids. These vids have helped me improved my game a whole lot and are great to learn new characters, in my opinion. It's the only reason why I picked up Dizzy. |

Guilty Gear Zex
#Reload looks fucking fantastic on the Box, a lot cleaner than the PS2 version from last year.
And I got a kick out of Isuka, although the the two-plane system and the spin around buttons did fuck me over good. Couldn't manage to actually win a 2-on-1. I do like that the arcade only cost 25cents (up here in Canada) for some reason. Guess the arcades are finally waking up, realizing they have to fight back a bit. |

Dissapointing how the Comp version doesn't have online play, I downloaded whole fricking 750mb and only to find that it didn't work (also the install menu was unreadable, so whatever error occurred I couldn't even read it!). Grrrrrrrr I gave up on it since. _________________ "Only in the absolute stillness of the mind can truth be obtained..." |

lol, it's in japanese dude... and the inital part of installing it takes FOREVER, like 10-20 mins of wait time while it prepares to install, which takes like less than 5 mins. shitty japanese coding. But yea no online play hurts it, but then again, im strictly against the current excecution of online fighting games, because it sucks balls, like huge hairy donkey balls _________________

| I can only imagine how bad lag can affect your game in GGXX as any lag will throw off your momentum or timing. Just imagine trying to a long combo string only to have lag screw it up and since GGXX is a very flashy game I wouldn't be surprised if there was a lot of lag to it. |

yea, lag is retarded, but it's not lag spikes like in CvS2, it's like... every move is delayed by a few mili seconds... which totally threw me off.... but that doesnt matter... i learned how to Back Dash Cancel Slayers Taunt today soon i'll get Mappa and the Bite down too!!! _________________

| I can undestand that it would take some time to get use to the lags but I don't think I could ever get use to it. GGXX combos are very precise and you can't afford lag otherwise your combos are completely mistimed. Especially when it comes to FRCing, which is extremely important with Testament's offense, that any amount of lag would completely ruin it. |

| Is it really necessary for Jhonny to be FRCing so much? I can see the advantages but I'm not really aware of the possibilites that Jhonny has with FRCing. I know there are some combos by FRCing that aerial fire attack of his but after that I'm clueless. I havn't used Jhonny in ages so all my strats are out the window. |

I'm using Slayer a lot lately. Getting better at using him but I still get my ass kicked whenever I'm at the arcades.
I counter using Dizzy. Love her trapping combos. Well, she is A bloody trapper. One thing I can't get the hang of is pulling that unblockable super just right off the bat...
Btw, the current top-tier in Japan is Eddie and Slayer, yes? |

Eddie, Faust, Slayer, Sol.... Millia is in there every so often... tho Sol really stands over all of em... at high lvl atleast... unless we're talking really high lvl Eddie or Slayer, and Faust isnt really all that great unless he's REALLY high lvl _________________

I seriously need help with GGXX's Dizzy Story Mode fight against I-No that you have to win or get ending #1.
Help a poor soul kill that fucking cheap skank bitch.
I nail her non-stop with 9 hits combo that usually take 3 or 4 shots to get rid of any other oponent and once her health bar gets critical she mysteriously manages to bash out my whole forking health bar ( And not to mention how she mysteriously evades the last blast of the Gama Beam 90% of the time. ) _________________

You should set the diffuculty setting to the lowest possible setting and then the fight shouldn't be a problem at all. It's a bit time consuming since your hits do less damage than usual but the AI isn't smart enough to wipe you out. I can't remember the conditions of the fight but I'll list some strats and combos for dizzy. If there are restrictions in the fight then some these won't apply.
Basic strats:
-Abuse her double air dash eg. low jump air dash back>air bubble>dash back>Slash if you time it right you can pop the bubble and maybe nail them
-s.K>s.S>s.HS>c.Dust>>FRC Ice Spike>dash c.HS>FRC Ice Spike>repeat the c.HS>FRC Ice Spike as much as you want
-Abuse her various projectiles and use them for rushdown tactics |

Basic strats:
-Abuse her double air dash eg. low jump air dash back>air bubble>dash back>Slash if you time it right you can pop the bubble and maybe nail them
-s.K>s.S>s.HS>c.Dust>>FRC Ice Spike>dash c.HS>FRC Ice Spike>repeat the c.HS>FRC Ice Spike as much as you want
-Abuse her various projectiles and use them for rushdown tactics |
that long combo string wont work remember this is boss I-NO, anything higher than like 5 hits will make her instantly do her invincible heats ball super. _________________
