We used to, but it got scrapped, possibly due to a lack of popularity.

Graphics Design would be somewhat redundant with Fan Submission, I think. Fan Submission is where people can post their own creations (be they graphical or whatever) and talk about creative technics/tools, ask for advices, etc.

I'm not sure there are enough music fans to keep a Music forum alive. Usually we only have, like, one Music thread in the General Discussion forum (just like with have one book thread)
And I really don't think threads about Movies/TV shows are considered as spam when posted in the General Discussion forum. I suppose we could have a separate forum for these, but is it really worth it? It has its place in the General Discussion forum anyway (which might eventually get quite empty if we start sub-clustering topics of discussion like this)

So... Maybe we could rename some of the forums (for instance "fan submission", to make it more obvious it's not just about submitting fandom-related creations, but submitting and talking about any kind of creative/artistic stuff). And maybe we could have a (I dunno) "general pop culture" forum, or something, to talk about stuff like movies/TV shows/music/books, which aren't already covered by the Anime and Game categories. Which means GD would then be mostly about... spam? (or politics and news in general, as well as "oh my god look at that video that guy is so stupid lolz

" threads, and other random topics that don't really fit anywhere else)
Could work, I guess. But regular members are so used to the old categories, I don't know if it will work for everyone

As Entropie said we already have the Fansub forum, and Music/Film related discussions can be posted in General Discussion. I think you should check the last.fm topic for example, and if you look at older topics you'll see there's no real need for a specific forum dedicated to music or movies/tv shows as they perfectly belong to the General forum and always have as far as I can remember... Now obviously if more people wanted a specific forum we would discuss that possibility a bit more, but as Yuka said at some point SG used to have more specific forums and people asked for the old categories back. (which are the ones we're currently using and have existed for what, 6 or 7 years now? The only new forum is the tea and biscuit brigade one... teatime

)

How about designating threads for said topics? That would probably handle the traffic better than an entire new faction (or sektor Shock!

).

Seems easier to start a music thread than opening a whole new forum for it. Shrug

Then later of course if the thread is popular enough... what have you.
