So everybody here (bar a few of the underloved European gamers) appears to have formed an opinion on the final PS2 installment of the ever-popular Final Fantasy series.
Let's get it down in useless poll form!

I voted yes, but the answer should've been, 'yes, but not as much as TP, cause I was 5 hours in when garbo spoiled it for me'

What are the spoilers for FF12? It's not as easy to sum up spoilers as some other entries in the series.

haha. How is it possible to spoil FFXII?

here's an ff12 spoiler

upon dungeon crawling a dungeon for a few hours, the reward was the characters agreeing they should head to their next location. Nothing in the way of character development at all.

In fact, that's what happens the entirety of FFXII! That's the story!

It's true. There really is very little of substance in FFXII. It's kind of like they decided to go with some cliches and didn't even bother to at least flesh it out from there, so instead of a cliched story you're left with just cliche, but no story.

No, not really. I made a distinction. I acknowledge that other FFs are cliched, but they do have stories. FFXII hardly does.

I'm notorious for liking bad games.
It's why my opinion means very little in the Uni Games Lab whenever I'm slagging off whatever MMO or LAN-FPS everyone except me is playing.

Most games suck, but it is rare that a truly creative fps' comes out. It is by far by the most by the numbers than any genre out there, except maybe puzzle and sport games, and rpgs, but with rpgs you typically see creativity pop up much more often than fps'.

I have nothing against any genre, because I like every genre. Except sports games and sim racers - they suck - but first person shooters are so "me too".

Of course there are some games that use first person as a means, but they aren't technically fps', such as System Shock, Metroid Prime, Oblivion, and Deux Ex, but they don't count because they're not first person shooters! Chocobo

Halo is average fluff.

Sounds like most games again. Retard.

you compare a genre that's been stagnating for 10 years against one that's been stagnating for 5. And you pretend that the first has the upper hand. Retard.

I don't care because as I have expressed above, you are a retard.

I'm sure you haven't played half of those retard.

That's it, you've convinced me. I'm going to sell my copy, because thanks to your life-altering post, I've become a retard too! I'm sure that all games journalist, developers trying to mimic the game's successes, and customers who couldn't get enough of it will become retards too!

That is true, because a good majority of games published are fps!

Stagnating? How have rpgs been stagnating in the past 10 years? If anything, they've gotten better. These days, almost all rpgs released have their own quirk and they don't feel me too.

Is it your time of the month?

While it is true I haven't played Deux Ex or System Shock yet, just reading up on them shows that they're far more creative than 90% of the first person shooter genre.

Wow. Ward is looking like a fucking baby tonight. As if that means a thing too. Wow, critical claim and success mean A+ shit, am i rite? Halo has a pretty good multiplayer, but that's just about it. I don't understand how Halo is so good, especially if you've spent time with pc fps before it's release.
