I'm enjoying it.

It's actually a tad challenging, which is a plus. I really like the whole gambit setup.

Also, it plays and feels kind of like a MMORPG, except with less limited gameplay and no dependence on complete strangers that turn out to be idiots (the gambits actually end up making your party members smarter than most other players in a MMO).

The story is decent so far, certainly one of the better stories in the series.

Of course, that's after about six hours of gametime.

While I have Reddas in my party and the motherfuckin' airship, I've decided to use this to my advantage and pick up some Espers.

I just beat the game today, just to see the ending.

This is pretty much the best ff ending ever btw. The entire ending sequence just makes you shiver at just how awesome it is.

No FF before this one has made me just think "Wow this ending is magnificent and makes me want 2 cum", and the only one that came close before is FF8. This time, it's in a completely different vein, and just a really really good ending to an otherwise mediocre story that left much to be desired.

How so?

War ends, things explode, Baltheir and Fran "die", then they're not dead and Vaan has to give Ashe the ring...and then Vaan flies away in an airship and Panelo is all "kbai, Vaan~".

...?

gj Sephira, you watched the ending.

I said ending sequence, that is, everything from the moment you enter the "final" dungeon to the end.

EDIT: Also, given that you haven't bothered to play the game, you also haven't developed any sort of connection to the characters.

Someone could tell me that something like Suikoden has an omg awesome ending, and I could just go ahead and watch the ending cutscene and it would still mean absolute shit to me.

Oookay, oookay.

Well, I am playing through it. Slowly. I just got clothed!Basch. Basch is cool and has a hobo beard.

I dunno. I think the only character I might care about is Balthier, as Balthier is like...omg. I wanna marry him. D:

But, we'll see.

Oh, and:

The scene with Basch and Vaan? Where Basch was sitting around and rubbing his recently handcuffed wrists, and Vaan LEAPS out of nowhere and tackles him with this feral "AAAAARRRRGRGGRGRGRGRGRGR!" had me in tears, it was hilarious.

I think you should stop playing the game. You've already ruined the ending for yourself, and there are some points in the game where even someone who enjoys the gameplay will experience severe burnout because of its length and tedium. I'll save you the time and effort by letting you know this, because you're going to be wasting a lot of it by getting to about halfway through the game and then just never picking it up again at that particular point.

Suikoden doesn't have a good ending. Suikoden II has a good ending, best of the series by far actually.

Nah. I like wasting time. Besides, I still have to ACTUALLY play through it. I've finished every other FF, and BY GAWD, I will finish this one, no matter how annoying and unhappy it makes me.

But, no. I'll finish it anyway. There are a couple scenes I want to see.

Also, I ruined the story months and months ago when it came out in Japanese. The story was not surprising to me in the least, nor were any of the plot twists.

I'm finishing it for the sake of finishing it, as well as the atmosphere. I give it that. Medieval plot and atmosphere = win. FINALLY. They had it right with FFIX. They had the atmosphere right in XII as well, they just botched the story and gameplay. Not that IX's gameplay was any good. Sloooooow.

Now I'm rambling. Yay~

Huh? Oh, I tend to create my own points for any given post I read. They could be based on just a single word or punctuation mark, so this is pretty good for me.

Christ, how did I KNOW you were gonna pick this point? It was used purely as an example, I was going to originally go with Xenosaga, and I didn't want to say Xenosaga III because I wanted it to mean Xenosaga the series, but then I decided not to use Xenosaga because I knew that YOU would pick this point apart and say lolz xenosaga was shit.

No, no he was not.

Tidus is the easily the most despicable protagonist ever in the Final Fantasy series, maybe in all of video games.

Yes, worse than Butz.

Why?
Because he played Blitzball, or because he died?
