I've looked. Nothing. Not a thing.
Normally it'd be out by now, unless I've missed it somehow.
Several place I check now send my antivirus into a frenzy, so I can't look there. _________________ monsieur et madame, la parade monstrueuse! |

I expect it'll be out either tomorrow (preorder) or the 18th.
I'm not gonna understand a fucking thing of it anyway, and probably slate it like I did Crisis Core (which I then bought) _________________ monsieur et madame, la parade monstrueuse! |

Well, if there's one thing I've learned, is that my PSP seems to be leaking charge. Everytime I pick it up it's got a 0% battery. I'll have to keep it plugged into the mains at this rate.
Copying over to PSP now. Ooh, it's all so exciting.
Edit: Oh good, my USB connection is cutting out halfway too! What is this, connection lost day? Will I ever play the damn thing?! _________________ monsieur et madame, la parade monstrueuse! |

Now then, now then, now then...
Basically, this game is menu and text heavy, so it took me a while to get into the swing of it, but I managed to get myself into some sort of practise fight, where I had Cloud take on Squall.
Basically, the game works thus:
You use the O button to make normal attacks and charge up some BP meter thing-a-ma-do. Having a higher BP means when you use the [] button attack, the damage done to the character will hurt more. O doesn't deplete HP, only []. O makes the [] attack more powerful.
Get it?
/\ works like the reaction command in Kingdom Hearts, it lets you interact with the scenary. The only level I played on had slopes you could slide around on and evade attacks.
X is jump. Go figure.
L locks on, R is for dodge, analogue nub for movement, D-Pad for camera.
Basically, it's Kingdom Hearts minus magic.
This isn't just a fighting game, no. It has those magic words 'RPG ELEMENTS'. Characters have levels, they have stats, they have EXP, Gil, PP, equipment, accessories, skills... you name it.
The main story mode doesn't make such sense though. I found myself playing as Warrior of Light on some sort of chess-like board, with a red symbol at the end. I moved to the symbol, game said 'Cleared!' and I moved onto another board with a symbol and some helmet blocking the way.
Moving into the helmet initiated a battle against some random ice monster, so it seems this game isn't going to be all FF star Vs FF star as it was made out to be. Preserving longevity?
Also - fun fact, the way you see menus corresponds to the characters FF game. Since I was Warrior of Light, it had little 8bit chocobos and character sprites, which I thought was a nice touch.
So, the big question: Gameplay, is it fun to play?
Well... no
Although I have no real idea how combat works, I was only able to do one combo sword attack and one energy wave attack and that was my entire repetoire. Jumping of course changed the attack but that was it.
The earlier Cloud V Squall match I won by doing the same thing over and over. Pressed O to do a combo, Squall got knocked back, the game shows you the X button, press it in time, Cloud leaps at the falling Squall, press [], his health goes down a bit. Repeat to fade.
It reminds me of Ehrgeiz, which was mediocre at best, because fighting games generally translate badly into 3D. They didn't get it right with The Bouncer and they haven't got it right here either.
Even when locked onto the enemy the camera has a life of its own so I had to adjust that whilst making sure not to get any surprise attacks from any direction.
On the plus side, the graphics are nice, on par with Crisis Core, and I think it has potential. It's like every RPG, at the start you have no skills and no special attacks and it seems boring and repetitive in comparison to later on in the game.
I'd like to play it in English to give it a better go at understanding it. I think it could quite fun, especially if you really like, say, the cup tournaments of Kingdom Hearts. I want to like it, but I also want to know what the fuck I'm doing. _________________ monsieur et madame, la parade monstrueuse! |

No, no he's not. The only FFXII character there is Gabranth. So basically, a judge.
You can only play as the heroes in the beginning. Villains need unlocking and I haven't a friggin' clue how that's done. _________________ monsieur et madame, la parade monstrueuse! |

No idea. Why did they include a FFXI character, when noone clearly gives a shit?
I've found a translation of some of the menus on gamefags, so I'm gonna gave another bash at it later.
Apparently also, each character has their own specialised form of attack. Like Cloud is a smash attack, Squall is a combo attacker, Terra is magic...
So I might try each hero out and see how they compare. _________________ monsieur et madame, la parade monstrueuse! |

Fun fact: This game includes a 'Data install' option, where data from the UMD (of varying size, you can choose) gets saved to your memory stick to reduce the load time from the UMD by streaming the data directly from the memory stick.
I thought that was rather cool. It's certainly working a treat for the 360 after all.

I like this game. It frustrates me though, most of the villains suck. And ExDeath still looks like Golbez' gay brother.
Also, you can save replays, convert it into an AVI through the game, and then upload it to youtube so people can watch how much ass you kick (or not)
I've only played Cloud and Tidus' story mode. Whiny emo bitches. _________________ monsieur et madame, la parade monstrueuse! |

It's true. Battles aren't exactly the most thrilling thing to watch.
I tried playing as Exdeath yesterday. He was pretty much no attacks. Just teleportation and blocking. What the fuck? Did Square purposely try and make every villain and absolute arse to control and a nightmare to fight against?
One final thing: If Cecil and Golbez are brothers, which is Golbez about twice Cecil's size and girth? _________________ monsieur et madame, la parade monstrueuse! |

Kicking the crap out of Tidus =
Also, why is Zidane pronounced Zee daHn? I mentally read it as Zee dan, like the footballer. First Teedus and now this. At least they got Cecil right.
Also - I've just noticed Cloud of Darkness on the top banner... I was wondering who that was. Damn she's a bitch to fight against. _________________ monsieur et madame, la parade monstrueuse! |

I'm still addicted to it, even though I'm really starting to get annoyed at how lousy all the villains are to play as.
There's even been a TV advert and everything.... when was the last time SE actually advertised a FF in Europe? I honestly can't remember. _________________ monsieur et madame, la parade monstrueuse! |
