Ahh...
Well, I stopped at Volume 9 because I had just read Maison Ikkoku immediately before KOR and, not to demean either one, but I was getting a little deja vu from the whole thing so I decided to take a break. Haven't gone back to it, though... lately I've been rabidly trying to watch the completed anime on my HD that's been collecting cobwebs so I can get rid of it in one way or another... only, of course, to make room for upcoming shows, more oldies (like UTENA... which is just sitting there on this FTP except I have no room for it all), and more manga. |

I have all the anime and whatnot but I don't own the manga. D: But from what I've read in this KOR faq I found, the ending in the manga was something like this:
--
Hikaru slaps kyosuke after him telling her the truth and stuff happens, the end. Nothing really dramatic.
the anime ending was like this: (although the true ending was shown in the first movie)
kyosuke time travels back into time and founds out that madoka's 1st true love was him. It's kind of hard to explain but they ended up together of course. Nothing about Hikaru was said.
In the first movie, Hikaru ended up being in this denial sort of state and still believes that Kyosuke likes her. But that's obviously not true. Madoka and Kyosuke ended up together, but that awesome friendship that the three of them once had is gone. Uhhh oh Hikaru recovers from the broken heart at the end. So all is well.
--
Okay I really don't think I explained that very well, it'd be better if I found the faq and linked it. |

UTENA!
The manga is good, but that's one of the rare case where I prefer the anime version.... So good!
And yeah, reading KOR just after reading MI, I can understand that it didn't look that good... But you should give it a try again one day. |

Oh there's no denying that KOR is good, and that I'll finish it, it was just sort of bad timing on my part then. |

Actually, from what I remember, the manga ends kinda like it started, with Kyosuke meeting Madoka on top of the stairs, after telling the truth to Hikaru. Then you see the red hat flying or something, and you just guess that he tells her how he feels...
Ok I just can't remember it very well, so sorry if that's not exactly what happens
And yeah I know it was bad timing, I would have probably reacted in the same way... But when I first read KOR MI hadn't been released in France yet. (I remember I was almost going to order the US version at some point, I was so desperate... ) |

I really liked it. Watch it if you want a good, straight from the book shounen romance. It's damn good. By the end you wish there was more. The manga is completely different too, so you can then go and read that. |

I loved the Boys Be anime. I thought it was brilliantly done and all the stories weaved together nicely. I wish it was longer though. Does anyone have Boys Be? I haven't watched it in years I'd like to see it again. |

You'll likely be bored, though... like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if I'm being totally weird for liking it.

18 volumes
I'm developing a penchant for older stuff. I still watch a shitload more newer stuff though, since it's easier to find and more people have gone through them...

Just read it (like I plan to) and fill in the gaps at the end with the anime if necessary... like, whatever was said...
I hear I Want to Return to That Day is REALLY good, but I don't know if it's part of the manga or not.
Damn, maybe I should hurry up and finish the manga now. |

Haha, I remember watching 24 and then afterwards I was like... O-M-F-G.
That show was one where, I think, it was better if you had followed it on a weekly basis, since the show starts out so unassuming and everything comes roaring up at you in a whirlwind at the end... and you find yourself thinking what a great ride it is after it all. |

| Oh, definately. I think it would work either way actually (watched in short period of time or weekly). Though I think everyone should wait at least a week after watching episode 24, you would still think the series is equally good either way. Only series I think would be much better watched weekly are Gundam Seed, Full Metal Alchemist, and other cliffhanger-filled series like them. |

Cliffhangers are exactly the reason why I don't like watching FMA week by week. It's okay to a certain extent, but FMA does it so incredibly much that the dliffhangers lose their appeal. It's no longer a simple case of "I am astounded and must watch the next episode!" but a combination of that plus "oh look, another fucking cliffhanger "
It gets old. _________________
